Observations et histoire de la classification de la description
Described as an aberration of encedon Linnaeus. Eltringham (1916) classifies it as a form. Le Doux classifies ascrepticia as a synonym of his lycoides described in 1931! van Son (1963) does not revisit this position. Pierre (1976) considers it to be an exceptional aberration of the lycia form (see this taxon).
