Observations et histoire de la classification de la description
Described as very closely related to consanguinea Aurivillius. Shortly thereafter, Butler (1895) concluded that albicolor is the albino form of consanguinea. Aurivillius (1898) classified albicolor as a variety of consanguinea. This position was disregarded by Grünberg (1910), who classified this taxon as a distinct species. Jordan (1916) classified it as a subspecies of consanguinea. Le Doux (1937) confirmed this position, which is no longer disputed today.
