Observations et histoire de la classification de la description
Druce (1875) classe ce taxon comme une simple forme. Aurivillius (1898) classe arctifascia comme un synonyme d'esebria Hewitson) ab. protea Trimen, et donc comme un Acraea. Eltringham (1912, 1916) classe arctifascia comme un synonyme de protea Trimen. Classé comme un synonyme dans le catalogue Pierre & Bernaud (2014).
